BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES RESEARCH
$87,175 awarded to research since 1985
Behavioral health services encompasses the integration of physical health and mental wellbeing and how that intersection affects overall health. Medical and social factors like home environment, nutrition, exercise, stress, and substance abuse may all be factored into focusing on “whole person care” to treat the physical habits and mental illness symptoms not separately, but concurrently.
Research studies in this area incorporate service-oriented projects aimed at addressing how complex medical, social, and behavioral needs are related to help build better habits, identify root causes of maladaptive behaviors, and reduce the severity of mental illnesses.
