Evening of Hope
The Evening of Hope is our annual gala event, an occasion for celebration and a time to shine a light on mental health. Held at the Pavilion at the Angus Barn, the evening includes a delicious meal with wine pairings, live and silent auctions and a keynote speaker.
2019 welcomed Emmy-award-winning investigative journalist, TV anchor, and mental health advocate Elizabeth Vargas as our keynote speaker.

Race for Steak: 9 a.m. • Walk for Hope: 10 a.m. • Festival: 10:30 a.m.
The Thad & Alice Eure Walk for Hope is one of the nation’s largest and oldest fundraisers benefiting mental illness research and treatment. There are two options for Walk participants: a 5K and a 1-mile Nature Hike around the Angus Barn Lake. Learn more.
The Race for Steak is a USA Track & Field Certified 5K Run (NC091116NW) held concurrently with the Walk. Learn more.
And all day long, we’re hosting a family-friendly festival with music, games, face-painting, balloon art, bounce houses, a petting zoo, an ice cream sundae bar, pony rides, and more!
And the best part is: you don’t have to join the walk to participate. Purchase a festival-only armband and come out any time to enjoy the day.
