Where is the Walk/Run held?
At the Angus Barn on Highway 70 in Raleigh, North Carolina
What time does it start?
Runner Registration opens at 7am and the Run starts at 8am. Walker Registration opens at 8am and the Walk starts at 10am.
Where do I park?
All walk/run participants park in the Walk for Hope parking lot (Raleigh Durham Airport Park & Ride Lot # 5 on Commerce Blvd just off Lumley Road click for map) where you can ride a shuttle to and from the Angus Barn. There are signs along 540, Hwy 70 and Lumley Road that will direct you to this parking lot. Please do not drop off participants in front of the Angus Barn! There is too much traffic in front of the Angus Barn and this is very dangerous.
How long is the walk?
There are three (3) Walk for Hope options. The full route is 10k (6.2 miles) through Umstead State Park. The half route is 5k (3.1 miles) turns around at Umstead Visitor Center. There is also a 1-mile nature walk around the lake behind the Angus Barn. View route map There are Hope Mobiles along the route that will pick you up if you cannot finish. If you choose not to or can?t walk just come out bring your donation and enjoy the day!
How do I participate in the Run for Hope?
The 1st Annual 10k Run for Hope (certificate # NC09116NW) takes the same route as the Walk for Hope from the Angus Barn Restaurant through William B. Umstead State Park and returns to the Barn. Run registration/chip pick up opens at 7 am. Runners take off at 8 am. You can sign up here on the website or call the office at 781-9255. Register Online
How do I participate in the Walk for Hope?

How much does it cost to participate?
We ask that participants raise or donate at least $60.00 per walker/runner ($30 for full time students). Family Pack up to five (5) per family for $150.00 ($30 per person).
How do I collect donations?
Simply ask your friends, neighbors, co-workers or family for a donation.
Have a car wash, yard sale, or bake sale. The Foundation of Hope provides
raffle tickets (free of charge) that you can sell to raise money. More fundraising ideas
Is my donation tax-deductible?
YES! The Foundation of Hope is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. There
will be tax receipts available on Walk Day or The Foundation will send
a tax receipt to anyone who requests one with their donation. NOTE: Walk participants making a personal contribution should deduct $10.00 when reporting their contribution.
What happens after I sign up?
After you register you will be mailed a collection envelope (if you need one) in which you can place your donations. Please bring this envelope with you on Walk Day. If you make your donation online, you will not need a collection envelope. You do not have to have a Walk for Hope Collections Envelope. You can turn your money into us in any envelope. Please remember to put your information (name, address, email and phone) on any envelope you bring to the Walk.
How do I form a team?
contact the Foundation office Teams must have five (5) or more people. The "Top Money Raising Team" and the "Largest Team" will be recognized on Walk Day. To form a team contact the Foundation office and we will send you a Team Captain Kit or you can download it here. Then gather some of your friends, neighbors or family, have them collect donations and then come out on Walk Day!
What happens if it rains?
Please park in the Walk for Hope/RDU parking lot, ride the shuttles to
the Angus Barn, where you can turn in your donation by noon and then enjoy
the food, drink and fellowship under the shelter at the Angus Barn.
Are there prizes?
Everyone wins. All participants will receive the 2010 Walk for Hope t-shirt and qualify for dozens of great prizes given away during the post-walk celebration. The more money you raise the more prizes you are eligible for. Prize details
Can I bring my pet?
Sorry but no, in the best interest of the animals, we do not allow pets
to be present.
Can I wear political attire or a political sign?
No, the Walk for Hope is a non-partisan event in support of mental illness
and political apparel is not appropriate. All walkers will receive a Walk for Hope shirt.
